There’s a FREE immersive experience in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, and it’s unlike anything else in New York City.
Inside Genesis House NYC, a luxury car showroom reimagined as a cultural hub, art and innovation come together in unexpected ways. This stunning three-story space is home to Genesis vehicles, a Michelin-Guide Korean restaurant, and one of the city’s most beautiful immersive art experiences.

Genesis House launched its first free and open-to-all installation in May 2024 with Bloomtanica, a lush, floral exploration of rebirth and renewal that celebrated Korean culture through emotion and design.
Now, CHROMA: Tales Between Hues is the newest addition to Genesis House’s Korean-folklore-inspired art series – a free, multisensory exhibit that transports you into a meditative world of color and feeling.

Genesis House partnered with actress Ashley Park to create CHROMA, inspired by the traditional Obangsaek (오방색) color philosophy, literally “the five cardinal colors,” representing balance and harmony through blue (empathy), red (love), yellow (integrity), white (purity), and black (wisdom).
Across six rooms, you can experience the emotional spectrum. It’s super inspiring!!!

Insider Tips for Visiting Genesis House NYC
🕒 How long to stay:
A quick visit takes 10-15 minutes, and if you want to soak it in fully, plan 30-45 minutes, so you can watch the projection cycles in the main room and feel their rhythm .
🌅 Best time to go:
Arrive early, right when doors open at 11 a.m. I’ve gone several times to each installation and never waited in line during weekdays (Friday included). Weekends can get busier, but mornings are still manageable.
📷 Photo tip:
Wear neutral/white tones, they reflect the colors beautifully + use portrait mode in low light for that cinematic glow 💁🏻♀️
Why You’ll Love CHROMA
It’s introspective, cinematic, and wonderfully photogenic. You’ll love CHROMA because it’s a journey through feeling and reflection through colors.
Black & White: Vulnerability & Resilience
Soft light dances over rippled sand, representing the duality of strength and fragility. It’s quiet, powerful, and introspective.
Yellow: Integrity
Inspired by the Korean folktale Gold Axe, Silver Axe, step into gold and silver reflections between stacked logs, symbolizing truth and reward for honesty.
Red: Unconditional Love
A cosmic red universe where two celestial lovers reunite on a bridge of magpies across the Milky Way. It’s romantic, infinite, and deeply human.
Blue: Empathy
Calming waves of blue light move in sync with gentle soundscapes. A nod to the story of Hare’s Liver, it teaches courage and kindness through depth and reflection.

Harmony: The Emotional Spectrum
“When they come together they form a story of harmony… revealing the shared threads of human experience.” The finale merges all colors into one vibrant display, red fading into yellow, blue into white, a symbol of balance and unity.

Before diving into holiday chaos, take a moment for yourself here. You’ll leave inspired.
