Ciaooo!!!
I’m Laura Giromini, Brooklynite from Italy.
I moved to New York in 2007 to chase a dream, and I never left. Back home, I worked on TV and on stage as an actress and a dancer, right up until the night before I left for New York. I still remember that time so clearly.
I barely spoke English, I had no visa, and I cried a lot. Though I’ve always believed that everything is possible when you follow your heart – so I trusted myself, and I trusted the universe.

Today, I’m a US citizen, I live in Brooklyn, and I still love getting lost in this city’s beautiful corners, finding something new and exciting every single time.
In 2009, I started sharing “VivereNewYork: MY NYC, for YOU to EXPERIENCE” to give everyone the chance to dive into this city the way I did. It’s why this website is called Vivere: in Italian, it means “to live” – and also, to get the full experience out of something.
Today, I keep sharing all of it: my first-hand NYC insider tips, my travel discoveries, and the personal stories behind them. Everything I do comes down to one thing: helping you experience New York, and travel, beyond tourist mode. The pretty corners, the experiences that nourish your soul, the weekend resets, and the dream trips made easy. I curate every guide into simple steps, seen through a local’s eyes.
And I photograph all of it myself, with the support of my husband, Luca.
Meet Luca Arrigoni, our photographer
Luca and I met at an audition for Disney Channel in Milan (he’s also an actor and a singer) back in 2003. And we’ve been together ever since… well, let’s just say we’ve embraced our rollercoaster, and we keep choosing us over any challenge we face. I think that might be the key to any relationship. 💕
In 2025, Luca, who also owns Sottocasa and works as a ski instructor up in Hunter, officially joined VivereNewYork as our photographer.

I can still create solo when he’s busy, though everything is better when we’re behind the lens together. For a destination, that means both perspectives: quiet solo moments, and the two of us in the frame. That’s the view we want to share with you.
So… shall we?
