In NYC there’s always a good reason to go around with no pants… And Cupid’s Undie Run is one of the best ones.
Every February, New Yorkers strip down to their red and pink undies and run about a mile through the city to raise awareness and money for NF – neurofibromatosis, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
100% of net proceeds goes to the Children’s Tumor Foundation to fund research for a cure.
It all started in 2010 when Brendan Hanrahan, Chad Leathers, Bobby Gill and a group of friends ran through freezing D.C. in their underwear in solidarity with those affected by NF, because NF sufferers can’t cover up their tumors, so they decided to strip down.
Since then, Cupid’s Undie Run has raised over $25.7 million to fight NF across cities nationwide. 💪
How it works:
The run kicks off with mingling, music and drinks at the venue, then everyone heads out for a mile(ish) run, and ends with an epic dance party. It’s part fun run, part charity party, all in your undies.
